About

I work as an Associate Professor at the Department of media and communication, University of Oslo. In my research I study people, attempting to understand user experiences and to use this knowledge as input to improve technologies and services, and, closer to my heart, to discuss the personal, social and societal implications of new technologies and services. Here’s a list of my publications

From 2008 to 2016, I worked as a Research scientist and Senior research Scientist at SINTEF, Oslo.

I have a PhD from the Department of media and communication University of Oslo (2007). The main purpose of my thesis was to analyze mediated practices among young people (through what we tend to call social media). A crucial ambition was also to conceptualise the notion of personal media and the distinctions between personal communication and mass communication. You can find my PhD-thesis here: Being in mediated spaces (pdf).
